Camp Jewel is a wonderful place, with excellent staff, activities. My children talk about their experience all year long. They have become globally minded and internalized the core values. We are thankful for this special camp experience. This is our 7 th year with Camp Jewel.
I'm leaving tomorrow for my third year at Camp Jewell. The staff is more than lovely, and the other campers, though you cannot control who comes, are for the most part amazing as well. It has taught me gratefulness and a is a constant reminder to slow down. The no technology rule is a great one, especially in our times. I have multiple friends I keep in touch with everyday. I love this camp and I will keep coming back. I would totally recommend this to anyone. There's something for everyone.
I stared going to Camp Jewell when I was a day camper, and kept coming back every summer until I was a coordinator. It is the best place I can think of. It's a fun, supportive environment, and I have met some of the best people in my life there. It taught me about my self and gave me skills that I use every day. I wouldn't be who I am today if my Mom hadn't sent me here!
Camp Jewell is the best possible summer experience a kid can have. When I first started going there I was shy, reserved, and didn't know much about myself or how to interact with other kids. After being a camper for 9 years and having the pleasure of briefly working there I have gained so much confidence and passion for pursuing my personal goals. Even though I haven't been directly involved with Jewell for a few years I still maintain amazing friendships with the people I met there and will never forget all of the important life lessons that Jewell taught me. Since I started going there my I've encouraged all three of my siblings, my older cousin, and my adorable baby cousin to visit as campers and they have all loved it. Please send your kids here, they deserve the experience.
I first went to camp jewel last year with my best friend. I previously left an all girls that that made me very scared because I was bullied there. When my friend told me about camp jewel I was a little intimidated by it also interested. So my parents signed me up. To my surprise it was amazing. For once in my life I felt like I belonged here and that everybody is so happy and welcoming. The campers are so friendly and joyful, there's all these great cheers, and corn roast was the best! However I didn't like this one counselor who believed that my friend and I were trying to run away. Which made no sense. She also wasn't the most happy person to be around because during our senior trip she said she's going to call the camp so we'd be taken away back home if we tried to run away. I didn't get it. Why would I run away from a place so great? Anyway it's not that big of a deal but I overall love camp jewel and can't wait to go back for session four this year!
